Our Story
From Nagree & Co to FCI India
The story begins with Nagree & Co, founded in 1964 in the heart of Mumbai. In an era when furniture was built to last a lifetime, the Nagree family established a reputation for uncompromising quality and meticulous attention to detail.
As Mumbai evolved, so did the business. The growing city demanded contemporary designs alongside traditional craftsmanship. The family responded by building relationships with European designers, studying international manufacturing techniques, and investing in modern workshop equipment — while never abandoning the hand skills that earned their reputation.
Today, as FCI India, we honour that heritage while serving a new generation. Our clients include young professionals, established families, architects designing landmark projects, and hospitality groups creating memorable spaces.
Manufacturing
Our Own Production Facilities
Unlike many furniture companies that outsource production, FCI India operates two wholly-owned production facilities in the Mumbai metropolitan area. We do not outsource manufacturing. Every joint, every finish, every upholstery stitch is completed by our own trained craftsmen.
Central Mumbai Workshop & Showroom
Our original workshop at the iconic Nagree Building on Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, Fort. Design development, prototyping, specialised finishing, and our extensive material library and showroom.
Vasai Production Facility
Our larger production facility handles volume manufacturing, timber processing, and assembly. Precision machinery alongside traditional hand tools, with capacity for projects of any scale.
Our People
Sixty Years of Skill, Passed Down
FCI India’s strength lies in its people. Experienced furniture designers, skilled carpenters and joiners, specialist finishers, upholsterers, metalworkers, and project managers. Many of our craftsmen have been with us for decades.
Our design team bridges the gap between client vision and manufacturing reality. They work closely with architects and interior designers, understanding the technical language and professional standards that trade clients expect.

We use the materials we specify. We build the joints we promise. The inside of an FCI drawer is finished with the same care as the outside of an FCI table.
